Cloud Platform Specialist

Excellent opportunity to be a Cloud Platform Specialist with one of the leading global insurance companies in Tokyo. A Cloud Platform Specialist is responsible for managing and maintaining cloud-based services and infrastructures. The main Cloud platforms at the company are Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud also including containers technology stack. This position includes collaboration with various stakeholders, including developers, engineers, architects, and operations teams, to ensure that cloud infrastructure is designed, configured, and managed effectively.

Responsibilities

Configuring and setting up of Cloud Infrastructure
・ Ensure that cloud infrastructure is aligned with Business goals and needs
・ Support the design of cloud solutions that are cost effective, scalable and cloud native.

Provide Cloud Technical Leaderships
・ Deploy cloud services such as containers, serverless computing and virtual machines.

Act as a Gatekeeper for best practices in Cloud
・ Monitor and flag non-compliant cloud resources. Support the remediation and provide consultation accordingly where expected.

Ensure Cloud Native Design is maintained
・ Provide strong technical support to cloud platform consumers (Developers, Ops, Architects.) and to resolve cloud platform related issues.

Requirements

- A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience administering cloud or infrastructure services across a large, diverse, enterprise environment.
- A strong desire to work with any technologies in an effort to become a cross functional member in DevOps community
- Bachelor’s degree or above in Computer Science or related field from accredited college/university or equivalent work experience
- English: Business level (Most communication, including meetings, will be in English.); and Japanese (Conversational)
- 2+ years’ Experience managing cloud platform. AWS or other Cloud Certificates

Desired Skills

- Understanding the basic concepts of cloud computing, such as infrastructure as a service (IaaS), platform as a service (PaaS), and software as a service (SaaS).
- Familiarity with major cloud service providers such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform, and others.
- Knowledge of cloud architecture and design principles, including network architecture, virtualization, and storage solutions.
- Understanding of networking principles, including TCP/IP, DNS, load balancing, and firewalls.
- Knowledge of automation tools like Ansible, Terraform, and CloudFormation to automate infrastructure deployments and management.
- Knowledge of DevOps practices, including continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) and container orchestration.
- Familiarity with scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell, and other programming languages.
